Ed Harcourt releases his sixth studio album ‘Back into the Woods’ today on CCCLX.
Recorded in just six hours at the iconic Abbey Road studios, it’s an album rich in emotional intensity that takes a stripped down instrumental approach – letting Ed’s signature lyrical dexterity come to the fore.
‘Back into the Woods’ begins with arresting opener ‘The Cusp & The Wane’, adds organ to the mix with the ‘70s piano stomp of ‘Brothers and Sisters’, sees guitar take centre stage again on ‘Last Will and Testament’ and finishes with purring fireside hym ‘The Man That Time Forgot’.
The Sunday Times assert that Ed's sixth album “distills everything that’s wonderful about him” and “may be his best release to date”, whilst The Financial Times award 4/5 and Uncut 8/10.
