Palma Violets

South London four-piece Palma Violets are Sam Fryer (vocals/guitar), Chilli Jesson (vocals/bass), Peter Mayhew (keyboard) and Will Doyle (drums).

After extensive touring in 2012 with Alabama Shakes and Savages and a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2013 Poll, the band released their debut '180' in early 2013 on Rough Trade Records. The album was lauded by press outlets including the New York Times, who called the it “raggedly charming,” and Rolling Stone, who praised its “garageland guitars… and psych-nuggets organ” and declared the album one of 2013’s best debuts.

The success of '180' saw the band go from putting on riotous DIY gigs in their London studio to traveling the world playing to enraptured sold-out crowds and festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury.

2015 marked Palma Violets' return with the release of their eagerly anticipated sophomore album 'Danger In The Club' released via Rough Trade. Produced by the venerable John Leckie, the album has been described by Rolling Stone as '...a slyly intricate effort with a fresh sheen of sophistication ... [it] ... maintains the earnest rockers' boisterous guitars and frayed shouts but also twines in eerie post-punk keys, poppish call-and-response interplay and even downcast balladry.'
